Machine Operator (Current Employee) says"No comment other than it’s the worst place I’ve ever worked. The people are rude and disrespectful. Managers having to take anger management cause they step up to employees and challenge them to go out back to fist fight them. It’s truly sad"
Operator (Former Employee) says"Production managers act like children and let personal feelings get in the way and the HR dept is worthless in every aspect of the word................CleanThey try to use you for the cheapest labor possible then throw you aside when they're done using you"
Area Sales Manager (Former Employee) says"This company is very demanding but does not give you the ability or resources and training to help do your job effectively nor the opportunities to advance. Too many old company managers that are too busy trying to take the responsibility for the successes and blaming their subordinated for losses. Management know little about the sales process or the ability to manage in a positive environment. This company continues to loose market share due to their management and ability to recognize the market changes.scheduling flexabilityterrible product literature, poor management, inferior product."
Assembly Line Worker (Former Employee) says"I was fired because another lady lied upon my name & said I called her a racial slur when she was not even of ethincity of the word then the manager comes up to me yelling & I'm clueless of what is even going on cause I did nothing wrong & the next day he fires me & lies about why he fired me to my face & tells the temp staff a complete different story."
Sorter/Packer (Former Employee) says"Definitely not a family-oriented company hard time to get hired in as a temp poor management no communication. The company doesn't back the employees up poor working habits product from employee that I've been working there for multiple years.Got a nice pay raise after being there for almost a yearPoor management"
Assembler (Former Employee) says"Loved working there...Employees were very nice as well as management but not enough pay"
Machine Operator/ maintenance (Former Employee) says"Stressful because its was hands on but it wasn't that it was that they had brought cheap tooling and expected you to work with it for a long period of time which was not going to happen at all or wasn't the right measurements of tooling to use for the job but still had to manage."
Cold Header Operator (Former Employee) says"Began great but as job progressed more restrictions and unannounced policy changes occurred ending with one day over allowable medical appointments and no warning before being let go"
Machinist (Current Employee) says"In my 4 yrs at sfs I had seen more people come and go more than anywhere I have worked. Extremely stressful job and very long hours. Swing shifts are awful, it is the worst thing you can do to your body. Go to work at 4 am one week and then 1 pm the next. management could care less because they don't have to work the swing shifts. Middle Management are like children, very inexperienced. The human resources dept is horrible. If you have a problem she will not help you. She acts like she enjoys employees being miserable. I guess as long as you don't have a life or don't have to deal with human resources you should do ok at SFS. Pay is pretty good and also benefits. Vacation days could be better.BenefitsHuman resources, swing shift and hours"
Production Scheduler (Former Employee) says"If you aren’t Swiss you will not make it anywhere in this company. HR is a complete train wreck. Lots of nepotism. Lots of barriers between departments that inhibit productivity and create an underlying hostility.Painted floorsHuman Resources"
Worker (Current Employee) says"Very poor management. The company is not family run but, the wyomissing and Exeter plants management team are all family and friends outside of work. Making it basically impossible to advance in the company. Human Resources can’t help you with anything relating to management. If you have a problem, going to them just makes everything worse. They just move you or get rid of you. Someone related to a boss will get hired and make more money than people who put in years of commitment. The poor management trickles down to the plant employees who are always switching shifts and working overtime to cover up for the mistakes. Accountability only applies to whom they chose. General workers are treated like pheasants compared to office or management employees. If you don’t know someone in management or are related. Don’t even apply.Good health care“Who you know” not “what you know”"
Machine Operator/Forklift Operator (Former Employee) says"I would say You get crossed trained in various areas and machines. I got plenty of experience in forklift and machines. its a really fast paced workplace and You have deadlines to be met. For summer the temperature could be more than 100 degrees."
Macine Operator (Former Employee) says"Sfs intec has a strong foothold in European markets but their ventures into America have been less successful. In their medina plant, ever since they started the transition to only automotive parts, employee were hired and fired in months or even weeks. They company started ordering lower quality stock, wire with large seems and cracks was not uncommon. Management also has issues with identifing with their departments.30 unpaid lunch, 2 15 minute paid breaksSmall raises, low chance if advancment"
Temporary Employee (Former Employee) says"Really tough work, it takes a toll on your body. A lot of repetition, and they expect you to keep improving. The other workers were very nice though, it's almost like they're a big family. I'm not cut out for repetitive work.EasyDestroys your body"
Machine Operator (Current Employee) says"The company could be great but they will never fix all the problems like horrible swing shifts, terrible human resources and management is very inexperienced. Seems like it keeps getting worse.Pay, benifitsSwing shifts, human resources"
Inside Sales (Former Employee) says"Very poor management. Lack of training and support from management. Pay and benefits are not very competitive. No advancement opportunities. Nice friendly coworkers."
Sorter (Former Employee) says"Sorters are a dangerous position as they are only temporary. If you are looking for an actual job and to be hired in, skip this place. You could be laid off at any time and you never know how long your shift will be until that day. No security at all.15 min breaks, air conditioningLittle to no job security, shift times are random"
Painter (Former Employee) says"Hay bastante trabajo para poca paga,y no aumentan el dinero y exigen mucho, mas la pintura hace daño a tu salud, quieren que hagas mas de lo que estas supuesto hacer."
Tool and Die Maker (Current Employee) says"very clean and nicely organized most employees are friendly .but unfortunately management likes to micromanage every little moveCleanLow pay .rotating shifts."
Machine Operator/Inside Sales Representative (Former Employee) says"Sales position was an 8-5 job, with a one hour commute each way. Answering sales calls, processing sales orders via, phone, fax, and e-mail. Setting up customer accounts, file paperwork. Been with SFS for 26 years, but due to high levels of stress in the Sales Department, I could no longer multi task duties. Management not very connected with employees work load. Co-workers remaining were like family. The hardest part of the of the job was the lack of feeling appreciated, and more and more of tasks were expected of us. The most enjoyable part was working at the same company with my husband, and best friend for 26 years. One hour for lunch. One hour comute each way, with an eight year old daughter I would like employment closer to home."
